Tasnetworks Enterprise Agreement
October 10, 2021
ASU is disappointed that members are now bound by a 4-year agreement that does not contain a robust dispute resolution clause or updated classification and compensation plan. If a job has a registered agreement, the bonus does not apply. However, registered agreements are valid until terminated or replaced. In fact, TasNetworks should really be disappointed with the result. At the beginning of negotiations, the company stated that it wanted an agreement approved by the majority of employees; They didn`t want the deal to go over the line. The results speak for themselves: only 56% of the vote voted in favour of the agreement. The Fair Work Commission can also help employers and workers negotiate with their New Approaches programme. Read more about The New Approaches on the Fair Work Commission website. The fact that the company put the agreement to the vote without the negotiations having been concluded, especially on these two main subjects, is absolutely shameful. Date: Do 26 September 2019 Time: 12:30 – 13:30 Location: St Patricks Meeting Room, Rocherlea (ASU organiser Kath Ryman will participate in this meeting). The company believes that the result of the vote was an excellent result. AsU disagrees! In preparation for the upcoming EA negotiations, ASU organizer Karen Tantari (with Kath Ryman in the North) will hold meetings to discuss your minutes and answer any questions you may have regarding the process or membership in our union. The details of the meetings are as follows: If you or any of your co-workers have any concerns regarding operating conditions, job losses, changes in working time, etc., do not hesitate to contact asU as soon as possible. Date: Sun 17 September 2019 Time: 12:00 – 13:00 Location: Leatherwood Meeting Room, Maria Street, Lenah Valley Results: 989 votes FOR 481 (56%) NO 383 (44%) Now is the time to organize together and stay stronger, please encourage your colleagues to join your union, ASU. These first meetings are open to all, so do not hesitate to share this meeting message and/or invite your colleagues! In addition, ASU is very concerned about management`s comments regarding the upcoming creation of the Advisory Committee to discuss “changes in the way we work due to the Covid 19 crisis”. ASU intends to hold TasNetworks fully accountable for its consulting and industry responsibilities….
